I’m an artist, colour-lover, storyteller, and cheerleader for people who are ready to take up space, and Sandra Gale Studio is my creative playground.

I create joyful art that brings confidence, energy, and meaning into your world.

What My Art’s All About

At Sandra Gale Studio, I create art for people who are done blending in. My portraits and still lifes are bold, bright, and full of heart, celebrating the women who light up our lives (and the ones still learning to see that light in themselves).

My work is all about joyful self-expression. Whether it’s an original artwork, a fine art print, a graphic tee, or a hand-poured candle, it’s designed to bring a little more joy, colour and confidence into your day.

Where It All Started

After graduating with a degree in Visual Communication in 2006, I worked as an in-house illustrator at one of Australia’s top gift brands for 14 years. It was a beautiful job, creative, meaningful, and flexible, but I always dreamed of having something that was truly mine.

In 2020, I started playing again. Candles, cards, portraits, tees. Just for fun. But it grew fast (thank you Instagram!). And suddenly I wasn’t just experimenting, I was running a studio.

Since then, Sandra Gale Studio has grown into a colourful world of art, products, and connection. I’ve exhibited at national art fairs, stocked shelves across Australia and New Zealand, and created pieces that now live in homes from Adelaide to Queensland and beyond.

How I Make It

My work starts with big sheets of painted paper, layered, textured, and full of colour. I cut them up and reassemble them like a joyful, chaotic jigsaw puzzle using a technique I fell in love with during my illustration degree at UniSA.

From there, my portraits and still lifes emerge: quirky women who radiate confidence, vases exploding with dopamine-filled blooms, and reminders that fun is enough.

I mix traditional collage with digital elements, acrylic paint, and affirmations. Each piece is full of story, emotion, and energy.
