A Moment of Courage is about brave moments that don’t always look dramatic from the outside.
The rich red vase feels strong and full of heart, with three apricot flowers bursting upward from it. There’s a softness in the flowers, but also a real sense of lift, like they’re reaching out past the edges of the moment and choosing to be seen.
For me, the red vase holds a feeling of courage. Not loud, not perfect, not always certain, but there when you need it.
It’s a tiny artwork, but it carries a strong little reminder: you can be true to yourself, even when it takes a breath and a tiny bit of bravery first.
Story & inspiration
This one started as a colour palette experiment, but the longer I looked at that round red vase, the more it made me think of a heart.
Not a perfect cartoon love heart, more like the warm, messy, strong kind of heart that keeps showing up when life asks a bit more of you.
And then the flowers did what my flowers tend to do. They burst out and take up space. Because apparently, even my small pieces are not interested in staying small emotionally.
I called it A Moment of Courage because sometimes courage isn’t a huge life-changing leap. Sometimes it’s saying the thing, making the choice, sending the message, walking into the room, or choosing not to shrink when that would feel easier.
Where it lives best
A Moment of Courage would be lovely on a small wall, bedside table nook, desk corner, shelf, entryway or gallery wall.
It’s also a beautiful gift for a friend who needs a reminder of their own strength, especially if they’re in one of those life chapters where they’re doing brave things and maybe forgetting to give themselves credit.

Its small size makes it easy to place somewhere personal, like beside your bed, near your desk or in a favourite little corner.
The red vase and apricot flowers bring a warm burst of courage without overwhelming the room.
The purple tiled border adds playful structure, so the piece feels sweet, bold and beautifully finished.
It’s a gentle daily reminder that being brave doesn’t have to mean feeling fearless first.
It’s a one-of-a-kind original that makes a thoughtful gift for someone learning to trust themselves.

Artist’s Note
This little one feels like a pep talk from your bravest self. Not loud, fearless, brave, but the small, real kind of brave that shows up when you take a breath and do the thing anyway. I love that it’s small enough to tuck into a special corner, but still strong enough to remind you that you’ve got this.
