What it holds
Here for the Fun began as pure colour play. A round turquoise vase is decorated with dots, diamonds and wavy lines (my favourite shapes), while bright orange flowers and green leaves tumble out above it. The hot pink border gives it an energy that feels determined to be noticed.
There isn’t a complicated meaning tucked behind this one. It’s a cute little original letting colour be reason enough.
Story and inspiration
I started with a very clear vision for the hot pink border, then kept moving colours and shapes around until I found the vase and flowers that could hold their own beside it.
Flowers and vases are one of my favourite ways to experiment because the combinations can be slightly surprising and still make perfect sense together. I made this piece for Affordable Art Fair Melbourne 2026 after having so much fun creating small floral artworks for Brisbane. This one came from following the path of that enjoyment a little further.
Where it lives best
Its compact size makes it easy to place above a desk, beside a reading chair, over a bedside table or among other colourful pieces on a gallery wall. It’s particularly good for the corner that feels a bit too conservative and needs one gloriously pink moment.
